Shawn O'Sullivan

Shawn O'Sullivan (born August 27, 1964 in Toronto, Ontario) was a Canadian boxer, who won gold at the World Amateur Championships in 1981 and won the light middleweight silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics, losing to American Frank Tate.

Won the Light Middleweight silver medal for Canada at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, California. His results were:

Pro career

O'Sullivan began his professional career that same year and won his first 11 bouts in the welterweight division, losing in his 12th fight to future titleist Simon Brown by TKO in the 3rd in 1986. O'Sullivan would fight sporadically against limited opposition from 1987-92, and launched a short lived comeback in 1996. He retired in 1997 with a record of 23-5-0, with 16 knockouts.

Life After Boxing

In May, 2007, O'Sullivan's apartment was broken into, and the thieves made off with nine rings, including one with four maple leaves and a diamond stud that commemorates his pair of world championships.
