- Pacific Regional Environment Programme
The Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) is an
intergovernmental organisation charged with promoting cooperation, supporting protection and improvement of thePacific islands environment, and ensuring itssustainable development . The Acronym SPREP did however not change; its French equivalent name is PROE, Programme régional océanien de l’environnement.

** People and institutions* Pacific Futures works to assist Pacific island countries and territories to plan and respond to threats and pressures on island and ocean systems, covering:
** Managing multilateral environmental agreements and regional coordination mechanisms
** Environmental monitoring and reporting
**Climate change and atmosphere
**Waste management andpollution control
