Richard Walker (born 17 September 1980 in Stafford), is an English professional footballer playing as a defender for Macclesfield Town.

Walker started his career at Crewe Alexandra, playing 101 league games and scoring 6 times before signing for Port Vale in 2006. He made 16 league appearances for Port Vale in the 2006–07 season and also scored in the Carling Cup win over Queens Park Rangers. However after a number of poor displays he fell down the pecking order.

Walker moved on loan to Wrexham towards the end of the 2006–07 season. His wages were donated by Craig Bellamy to try to help save the club from relegation to the conference.Fact|date=August 2008 His second season at Port Vale was largely dogged by a bad knee injury and ended in him being released in the January window to look for a new club.

Walker played for Shrewsbury Town's reserves in early March 2008 but nothing materialised from this as Shrewsbury were in the process of appointing a new manager.

Walker then signed for Macclesfield Town on a deal until the end of the season. Following the loan deal, Walker signed for Macclesfield on a one year contract for the 2008–09 season.
