Peka Peka, sometimes Pekapeka, is a lightly populated seaside locality [Land Information New Zealand, [http://www.linz.govt.nz/apps/placenames/index.html?p=27773 Geographic Placenames Database: Place Name Detail - Peka Peka] , accessed 26 October 2007.] on the Kapiti Coast of New Zealand's North Island. Its population according to the 2001 New Zealand Census of Population and Dwellings is 195, an increase of 35.4% or 51 people since the 1996 census. [Statistics New Zealand, [http://www2.stats.govt.nz/domino/external/web/CommProfiles.nsf/FindInfobyArea/563704-au Peka Peka Community Profile] , accessed 26 October 2007.] It is located just off State Highway 1 and the North Island Main Trunk railway between Waikanae and Te Horo.
