Adventurers' Land

Adventurers' Land (gbmapping|TF362019) is a 10.1 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Cambridgeshire, notified in 1989. The name derives from the 17th century use of the word 'adventurers' to refer to the investors who financed the draining and development of the fen [http://www.wisbechstmary.org.uk/page76.html] .
