October 1 ,1961 ) is a German former football player.As a youth, he played for "Bundesliga"'s
Hamburger SV . Like many youth players from the club, he made his high school graduation at the Gymnasium Heidberg inHamburg -Langenhorn. In his career as a midfielder for the club, he played 378 games, 368 of which were in the "Bundesliga". With Hamburg he won the "Bundesliga" twice, and won the German Cup once, however, his biggest success was in the European Champions Cup, when Hamburg were victorious against Juventus. In the summer of 1994, he was transferred toArminia Bielefeld where he played until 1997. After leaving the club as a player, he began working as a manager for the team, a post which he held between July 2005 and February 2007.From
