"Silver Side Up" is Nickelback's third album, but their first commercially successful album. It includes the hit single "How You Remind Me" (which smashed the U.S. charts with a simultaneous #1 on the Rock/U.S./Alternative charts). Other singles from this album include "Never Again" and "Too Bad". The song "Just For" is a re-recorded version of the same song from the band's debut album Curb.Nickelback was named #1 Most Played Rock Artist of 2002 Across All Radio Formats. Despite never being released as a single, "Woke Up This Morning" was played frequently during the All the Right Reasons Tour and on the radio.Verify source|date=May 2008

Silver Side Up was certified 6x Platinum by the RIAA in April 2005 and has sold 5,166,441 copies as of May 27, 2006. In their native Canada, the album became 8x Platinum for selling over 800,000 copies. The album also received heavy airplay outside the continent, in the UK the album was certified 3x Platinum by the BPI for selling over 900,000 copies. In Australia the album was certified 2x Platinum, also in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Switzerland the album became platinum.

According to IFPI, over two million copies of the album were sold in Europe.
