GCSI (born1823 , died7 February 1873 ) was theJat ruler of Dholpur state (1836 -1873 ) inRajasthan ,India . He was fromBamraulia gotra ofJats . He was younger son ofRana Kirat Singh and successor ofRana Pohap Singh . After the death ofRana Pohap Singh his younger brother Rana Bhagwant Singh ascended to the throne.Rana Bhagwant Singh was a cheerful and lively person. He helped and provided security to the British and
Maratha refugees who came to Dholpur in1857 war of independence. He was married with daughter of Jat chieftain Nand KishorRajauria . He was helped by his sister-in-law and wife of his elder brotherRana Pohap Singh in the matters of state affairs.He had no issue. He adopted a boy Maharaj Singh and named him Kulender Singh. Kulender Singh was married with Basant Kaur, daughter of Maharaja Narender Singh of
Patiala . Kulender Singh died young at the age of 28 prior to Rana Bhagwant Singh. Kulender Singh had a son named Nihal Singh aged 5 at the time of his death. Rana Bhagwant Singh was awarded K.C.S.I. and G.C.S.I. (cr.1869) by the British government. He died on9th February 1873 . His successor wasRana Nihal Singh .----References
