Richard Perle became embroiled in controversy after "The New Yorker " published an article bySeymour Hersh which describes a meeting with Perle, the arms dealerAdnan Khashoggi and Saudi businessmanHarb Zuhair , in which he allegedly offered to influence American foreign policy inSaudi Arabia in exchange for investment in Trireme. An investigation by the Inspector General of the US Department of Defense found that these allegations were fabrications.Trireme Partners completed its business and dissolved in 2005.
