İDO Istanbul Fast Ferries Co. Inc. (Turkish: "İstanbul Deniz Otobüsleri", meaning "Istanbul Sea Buses") was founded in 1987 by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. It started off with a fleet of 10 seabuses purchased from Norway and it now has a fleet of 27 seabuses with capacities ranging from 350 to 450 passengers. İDO was founded to help with the sea transportation and thus help ease traffic problem in the largest city of Turkey. Travel via sea is often viewed as a promising solution to the traffic problems considering the fact that Istanbul is located on the sides of the Bosphorus. Furthermore 2 ferries with a capacity of 490 passengers and 94 cars serving in İstanbul - Yalova line, another 2 ferries with the capacity of 800 passengers and 200 cars serving in İstanbul - Bandırma line joined the fleet in 1998. In 2004, 2 ferricats capable of serving 600 passengers and 112 cars started sailing Pendik - Yalova line.

In addition to offering scenic tours and regular service to islands in the Sea of Marmara.
