Pavle Orlović (
Serbian Cyrillic : "Павле Орловић", duke (војвода) of Novo Brdo, born cca. 1350 -June 28 ,1389 ) was one of the most famousknight s in Serbian history. Son of Vuk (Вук), duke (војвода) of Soko grad on Drina. After death ofStefan Uroš V , his feud was mining town of Novo Brdo, on Kosovo and Metohija, as well as his father's feuds on Mt.Rudnik in central Serbia. He died in theBattle of Kosovo in1389 . His direct descendants are the noble families ofMartinović ("Мартиновић") fromBajice nearCetinje ,Montenegro , andSamardžić ("Самарџић") fromKrivošije inBoka Kotorska ,Montenegro , until 17th century also known as Martinović-Orlović and Samardžić-Orlović. Martinović family are descendants of Bajo Orlović, and Samardžić family are descendants of Bajo's brother Savo. There are many other descendants of Pavle Orlović, but without recognized status of nobility. The most prominent non-noble descendant of Pavle Orlovic is surelySerbian-American scientistNikola Tesla .Orlović family is now oldest living Serbian noble house dating from Vuk Orle (XIII century).
