- Saint-Alyre-d'Arlanc
Saint-Alyre-d'Arlanc is a small village at an altitude of 860 meters in the
Massif Central region of centralFrance . It is situated on the D999 road and almost mid-way between the cities ofClermont-Ferrand andSaint-Étienne at the heart of theParc naturel régional Livradois-Forez .The canton comprises the small hamlets of
Chouviaux ,Pauly , Bressolles,Bressolettes ,La Ferreire ,Germalange ,Aubepierre ,Le Montel ,Tremoulet andChelles .The village has a population of 50 permanent residents, which swells to approximately 200 during the summer months. The
mayor , elected in July 2006, is M. Daniel Manniez. The annual "Fete Patronale" is held on the third weekend in July.The village is surrounded by pine forest with wild mushrooms to be found in the woods during autumn, rolling countryside and it is on the pilgrim trail. 9 km to the south is the mediaeval abbey town of
La Chaise-Dieu .
