Chief Deputy Majority Whip of the United States House of Representatives

The Chief Deputy Whip is the highest appointed position within a conference in the United States House of Representatives. The chief deputy whip is the primary assistant to the whip, who is the chief vote counter for his or her party.

The Democrats have a senior chief deputy whip, currently John Lewis of Georgia, who leads a team of chief deputy whips.

The current Chief Deputy Minority (Republican) Whip is Eric Cantor of Virginia.
