gaming convention held annually inRhode Island . The first TempleCon occurred on January 27th, 2006 at the Holiday Inn (now the Providence Hilton) inProvidence, Rhode Island , and had approximately 130 attendees. In May 2006, the staff relocated the venue of the 2007 event to the Westin Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. TempleCon 2007 was held on February 16th, 17th, and 18th at that location, with nearly 400 attendees. TempleCon has most recently found its home at the Providence Biltmore Hotel, which hosted TempleCon 2008 on February 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, 2008.Currently in its third year, the organizers founded TempleCon in an attempt to grow a small local gaming convention into a larger event to eventually provide the
New England region with a major convention similar toDragonCon orGen Con . The founders, convention staff and dealers at other conventions in the area, sought to organize an event to revitalize a fragmented community of socialgamers in the New England area.TempleCon annually hosts the North East Regional Qualifier, a large official event held for the popular multiplayer
collectable card game fromWhite Wolf, Inc. The convention also has come to host a series ofWARMACHINE championship tournaments in which the players compete for a yearly inscribed trophy specific to the convention, as well as a LAN Room withelectronic gaming events, most notablyGears of War andHalo 3 tournaments.In addition, TempleCon also features guest industry artists and writers which have included Lars Grant-West, Dave Seeley, Cyril Van Der Haegen, Heather V. Kreiter, Rick Sardinha, Quinton Hoover, Geek Woman, Rebecca Guay, and CJ & Erica Henderson. The Seattle-based major game publisher
