During a missions trip in New York City, David Buck became burden for the
hell -bound people. Buck told Art Williams, director of BOAM, that it was too bad he couldn't do more to reach people with thegospel . Art replied, "God gave you a farm. Use it for Him." Within a year, Buck and his wife began brainstorming the idea for a regional youth rally. In 1981, the Bucks hosted the first Harvest Teen Rally, with around 150 teens attending.Fact|date=January 2007The first speaker was a nearby
pastor . After the last service, the speaker asked how many teens would be back the following year. By the end of that first rally, Buck decided there would be no other. However, the response from the attendees, churches, and other pastors throughout Indiana encouraged Buck to have the second rally, and has now become a regular event.External links
