Admiral Fasih Bokhari was the chief ofPakistan i Naval Staff from1997 to1999 . As an admiral, he was responsible for the induction ofAgosta 90B class submarine for thePakistan Navy . He was asubmariner by profession and was the torpedo officer on thePNS Hangor when it sunk theINS Khukri . He resigned either due to differences with GeneralPervez Musharraf or due to health reasons.Admiral Bokhari joined the navy on January 1, 1959 and attended the
Britannia Royal Naval College at Dartmouthbefore being commissioned into the Pakistan Navy in May 1962. Since then, he had numerous key staff and commandpositions, both ashore and afloat.He joined the submarine service in 1964 and was part of the acquisition crew of the
Daphné class submarine . Hecommanded a Daphne submarine and toured on duty as destroyer commander. Besides, he had been commander ofsubmarines, the director of naval operations and director of the naval warfare operation plans. A graduate from the French Naval War College in 1975, he had served as deputy chief of naval staff (supply) before his last appointment as commander of the fleet.External links
