1378 -1388 ), was theMongol Khan of the Northern Yuan Dynasty inMongolia . He used the era name Tianyuan (天元).Although Ming sources say that he was a son of
Biligtü Khan , Tögüs Temür was his younger brotherFact|date=February 2007. He succeeded to the throne after Biligtü Khan died in 1378. He continued to press the Ming from the north, cooperating withNaghachu of theJalayir inManchuria . However, he suddenly faced a predicament in1387 when Nagachu surrendered to the Ming due to a devastating famine. In 1388 he was raided by the Ming on theBuyir Nuur . In his escape toKarakorum , he was killed on theTuul River by Yesüder, a descendant of Arigh Bukha. This marked the fall of theKhubilai line and the rise of theOirats .
