nihongo|"Judas"|ジューダス|Jūdasu is a manga by nihongo|Suu Minazuki|水無月すう|Minazuki Sū. There are a total of five volumes in this series. The first was published in English by Tokyopop on October 10, 2006. The second volume of this series was released by Tokyopop on February 13, 2007. Judas is cursed for his sins to kill six hundred and sixty six (666) people to regain his humanity. However, he is forbidden human contact and has no corporeal body. In order to kill, he uses his slave, Eve, to kill for him. Every time Eve's blood is spilled, Judas comes out and forces Eve to "say his prayers", in other words, kill. However, despite being forced to commit such heinous acts, Eve is also forced to dress like a girl. Judas had mistaken him for girl when they had first met, and he has forced Eve to dress like a girl. Sometime along the course of their strange relationship, they meet a professor, who joins them.

Volume 1

Volume 1 introduces Mizuki conversing with Sorahito about where people go when they die with him responding "no they go to Eden".Eden becomes a referring place during the course of the manga and finally introduces Eve the character whom Judas is attached to. Judas is The spirit of Death and apostle who betrayed Jesus. His curse is to kill 666 people so he may gain his humanity it is implied that they have been together for sometime and have taken many lives. When Sorahito becomes odssesed wth finding "Eden" he tries making Mizuki join him so they can go to "Eden" together. Eve who is really a boy and confused to be a girl all the time including Judas which is explained that when they first met Judas confused Eve for a girl so now he makes him wear girls' clothes, confronts Sorahito and tries changing his mind but Sorahito tries killing Eve. In response Judas is summoned and combine their powers and kill Sorahito. Later Mizuiki meets Dr. Hibuki who is a doctor and becomes desperate for Eden too. Hibuki is visited secretly by a bald man who gives him power. When Hibuki is killed a strange necklace is found where Judas says "Damn Peter! what the hell is he creating me? the hell!!". Later Mizuki meanwhile has been researching on what Eden actually is and the "Holy Council" when she asks Judas about it Judas only says "do not interfere". Eve then tells Mizuki of a man whom Judas was attached to and who may hold the answers to everything. This man is in New York. The FBI arrive to arrest him but the man kills all of the agents including destroying the helicopters. The man, revealed to be Zero Maschaitto then talks about "opening the doors to Paradise".

Volume 2

Zero meets with the bald man,Peter. Peter commands Zero to do battle with Judas and to take back what he took from Zero. Zero departs with Peter saying "what terror there will be". Mizuki,Eve and Judas and Kugiku Mizuki's friend get a visitor who is a friend of Mizukis. She is revealed to be Sorahito's sister and Mizuki descides to tell her want happened to him however they are drawn by a mysterious force. Judas is the only one not affected and it turns out Zero is the cause for their kidnapping. Zero says that he will take everything from him and take back what was taken from him by Judas. Zero reveals that Peter plans to resurrect the twelve apostles and together open the gates of Eden. The one who betrayed Christ is revealed to be Judas himself. The historical figure . Zero aims to kill Eve who without,Judas will turn to nothing but suddenly he is freed and Judas and Eve combine their powers and take on Zero. The have a fierce battle and its revealed that Peter who is the apostle Peter plans to clone Judas but this is foiled. In the end Zero departs and Peter summons the first of the revelations of John, Rain and hail mingled with blood which falls onto the earth. At a cafe Its revealed that Saints John and Philip have been revived and soon after the waitresses speak to them they are killed by John And Philip uses his time powers to switch the clocks back making it possible for the second seal to be opened "A great mountain of Fire Erupting" Mt.Fugi is blown up and thousands upon thousands are killed as a result. As the Apostles are resurrecting and Peter laughs in delight, Judas and Eve have enough and declare that there going to "pity the fuck out of them". Concluding volume 2

Volume 3

Volume 3 begins with Mizuki being tricked into going to a house from an email which said it was from Sorahito who says that he is alive and wishes to speak with her. In reality however St.Thomas tricked her and wishes to "try" her for her sins. Eve and Judas run to the house and find that Thomas has begun the trial. Thomas reveals to them that Mizuki when shes was a girl had "untolerable feelings" for sorahito when though taking vows of chastity,Mizuki would in the night go to his room and kiss him and finally betrayed him to Judas (who killed him in volume 1).

Eve Makuran - The current vessel of Judas. He is a boy who very much looks like a girl, and was confused as such with his first meeting with Judas, and as well as Mizuki Ayase. He is pretty dimwitted and has an immense love of hamburgers. He doesn't want to kill people but after a few convincing words from Judas he lets Judas take over his body, that or he is forced to say his prayers so that Judas can do his job. The prayer that Eve says/sings to summon Judas is the following "Kyrie Eleison, Christe Eleison, Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison, Christe Eleison" witch translates to "Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy" with Judas saying "Halleluja!" When Eve/Judas is going to kill he is says the following prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take." After gaining Matthew's power of Conviction he was turned into a female because of the conflicting powers of Matthew and Judas within his body.

She shares the physical appearance and name of "Eve", the first person to touch Judas and the only person Judas ever loved. Eve is the reincarnation of Eve, and, like the first Eve, she is the manifestation of sin, though, as Jesus described it, "She is like a newborn, knowing nothing of sin".

In Volume 4, Eve completely transformed into the Original Eve, Judas' lover, regaining her physical body and memories of over 2000 years ago.

In Volume 5 Eve runs off to be with Judas, taking his side after he defeats Peter in a one on one battle. The last pages of the manga show that Judas and Eve are still together, wandering the land and make their way back to the church/orphanage Sorahito and Mizuki live together in.

Mizuki Ayase - Mizuki achieved her Professor status when she was 16 years old. She developed the drug that is currently being experimented on and being used by Peter to try and recreate the powers of death and eve.

In Volume 3 and 4, she went back to the time of Jesus, with the help of Simon of Truth. She took the place of Simon in the flashback, and took his place in present day after he was killed.

Towards the middle of Volume 4 she wields Simon's Power of truth and by the end of volume 4 solves the puzzle of truth, allowing her to alter one truth. The truth she alters is the curse of Judas, allowing him to return to his former body, thus gaining full access to his powers as the King of Death.

At the end of Volume 5 both Sorahito and herself build a Church/Orphanage. They live together raising children, and Kogiku lives with them as well.

Sorahito Hijiri - He is a father of the local church and Mizuki Ayase's "older brother." Sorihito has a saying "Strike my right cheek and I'll turn the other." After a while he was obsessed with 'Eden' and was ultimately killed by Judas while possessing Eve in Volume 1.

In Volume 2, Sorahito is revived by Peter but as Matthew, one of the twelve apostles who has the power of Conviction, but he gave his power to Eve Makuran in order to protect his "sister" from harm.

In Volume 4 he assists Judas and Zero in protecting Mizuki as she begins to solve the puzzle of truth.

Towards the end of Volume 5 it is shown that Mizuki and himself live together in a church/orphanage raising children and telling stories of Judas to the children.

Kogiku - A young girl and schoolmate to Mizuki Ayase. She is ill and has a weak heart limiting her from doing a lot of physical exercise. She is very shy around most people, she is a bit dimwitted when it comes to sexual references or mistakes a common act for a sexual reference. For example when she was told by Mizuki to hold on to Eve's hand to keep him from spilling blood she said "I'm still inexperienced about these things, but...". For the rest of the manga she plays a supportive/comedic role and does not have much involvement in the final battle.

At the end of Volume 5 it is shown that she lives with Sorahito and Mizuki helping around with cooking and cleaning.

Judas - Death and one of the twelve apostles. He has been condemned to bring death upon 666 people due to his curse. He has no physical body and can make no contact with people, though anything else (i.e his nudie mags, raiding the refrigerator, drinking booze, or stealing Eve's hamburgers)is possible in his "ghost" form. When Eve's blood is spilled, he takes over Eve's body and kills someone. When Eve says her prayers, or when he forces Eve to say her prayers, Eve's appearance changes to a young woman with long flowing black hair, a black two piece dress and with a scythe as her weapon. He likes to tease and taught Eve as much as he can. Judas also has a sick mind as he makes a majority of sexual references.

When he first met Jesus, nobody touched him because of his eyes, which are called the Eyes of the Serpent. Allegedly, they curse the person who touches him. The first person to touch him was Eve, who looked like Eve Makuran when she "says her prayers". Because of her innocence and ability to touch him, they fell in love. Unfortunately, she was the "queen bee" of a huge amount of evil "women", the kind that comes out of people who came into contact of the drug Mizuki created. These "women" kill several Apostles while Judas and Eve meet. Jesus gives Judas the Longinus, a spear so imbued with the powers of death that it is capable of killing even Jesus himself. Judas, though absolutely shocked at first, goes in a fit of rage, throws the spear into a huge concentration of "women", and accidentally kills Eve, who was in the middle. Three months later, Simon tells Judas that, to bring back Eve, he must kill Jesus. This is the reason Judas betrayed Jesus.

In volume 4, he is reunited with Eve, and regains his body.

In Volume 5 Judas defeats John easily with his powers and kills every single possessed apostle under John's control with the Longinus, commenting that only his friends were the ones he considered on par with his power before laying a fatal blow to John. Later Judas confronts Peter and defeats him in hand to hand combat, since the Longinus is cancelled out by Peter's Sash of Rebirth. Afterwards he stabs Peter in the throat with the Longinus killing him and sending him to be reunited with his lover Thaddeus. He then leaves with Eve, forever wandering the post apocalyptic world with his lover, passing death on to those worthy of being slain by the Longinus. The ending depicts Judas and Eve visiting the Church/Orphanage that Mizuki and Sorahito run together.

Peter - Peter, one of the apostles and given the power of 'birth.' His figure seems almost unhuman, made almost entirely of pure muscle, which was pointed out by Simon of Truth in volume three of the English manga, calling him a 'muscle-bound fool.'

Warm and friendly, he used to have long hair back in the past before Judas committed his sins. However, now after seeing Judas again, his temper can quickly change into that of rage. He was going to marry after Jesus was crucified, but the woman he was going to marry, Thaddaeus, jumped in front of Jesus just before he was stabbed with Judas' Longinus, and they both died. Peter, after finding her body, takes Jesus's place on the cross, and, while on the cross, swears revenge on Judas. His plan was to rally all the former apostles and fulfill John's revelations in order to grant access to Eden for all.

In Volume 4 it is revealed that they were deceived by John and that the revelations were a means of giving John all the powers of the apostles in order to destroy everything.

In Volume 5 he comments how it is all over and that there is no point to pursuing Eden anymore. Afterwards he is confronted by Judas and the two fight in hand to hand combat since their powers negated each other. He was defeated by Judas in combat and after being ran through by the Longinus finds himself in Eden with Jesus, Thaddaeus and all the other apostles. Jesus then explains that the Longinus is in fact the key to enter Eden, and that only those slain by the Longinus are granted access to Eden, meaning Judas can never enter Eden, as he can not take his own life with the Longinus. Jesus explains that he took on this roll because he figures that he is alone and hated so no one would ever miss him or he would miss anyone. Showing that in fact Judas never did betray Jesus all along. Peter then begins to weep for haboring such a grudge against Judas, and the fact that he took on such a terrible burden.

Zero - Former vessel for Judas, personality wise he is just like Judas. It is revealed he has a love for multiplication since everything can be turned into Zero by mutliplying it by 0. He bears an intense grudge towards Judas and wants him to "pay back what he owes him". Despite this intense hatred towards Judas they surprisingly get along really well, often joking and teasing each other on everything, from their taste in women to what they smoke. Being a former vessel he is a very powerful and ruthless fighter, so much that even Judas said "out of all the people I have taken control of you by far are the shitties of all". Zero is cursed since he touched the Longinus, never able to truly die. He fights with two pistols, both imbued with the power of Longinus he possesses

In Volume 2 he confronts Judas and after a long battle explains what the other apostles are plotting. Before departing he taunts Judas to get his body back so they can settle the score.

In Volume 4 Sorahito and himself assist in protecting Mizuki as she solves the puzzle of truth.

In Volume 5 after Judas defeats John they are seen at a strip joint drinking and comparing what female assets are the most important. Afterwards it is shown is that the score that needed to be settled is when Judas killed Zero's lover, who had gone insane searching for Eden. In order to try and protect her he grabbed the Longinus to try and stop it from killing her but he was too late, and has been cursed to never die for touching the Longinus. Judas tells him that he honestly did want to kill him too, but figured it would be too lonely without his drinking buddy around, so he let him live. Afterwards Zero is shown shooting John as he is getting his body destroyed by John's power of destruction. After John is killed by the power of Longinus within Zero, he comments that he never really cared for the death of his lover, but was pissed that Judas just left him alone like that. So he decided to chase after him, so he could see him and have another drink together. Afterwards he comments that Judas and himself should get together again for another round of drinking.

John - John is the Apostle of destruction and the writer of rapture or revelations in the bible, he is seen as an effiminate male, wearing some sort of flowing dress. He can destroy anything he sees or touches and wants nothing short of total destruction of everything.

In Volume 4 it is revealed that the real traitor was not Judas but was actually John, the true traitor that had the eye of the serpent, who wants to use his powers of destruction to destroy everything. Jesus knew of his plot and asked Judas to kill him with his Longinus before John's plans can be carried out. John reveals the prophecies he foretold weren't for salvation and access to Eden, but for damnation and destruction by his own hands. He also reveals the rituals were to also grant him access to all the powers the other apostles possessed.

In Volume 5 he is soundly defeated by Judas who had just regained his body. He then reappears before Zero and laughs that Judas never fully killed him. Only for Zero to reveal that he let him live on purpose so he wouldn't go to Eden. John dies after Zero continuously shoots him, the bullets containing a fragment of the Longinus' power, while John destroys Zero's body.
