Cassandra’s Ears was an all-female music group formed in the late 1980s, and based in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Their first release was the song “Replacements” for the National Student Radio compilation, "Weird Culture Weird Custom". The band played local gigs, wrote more material, and eventually released two EPs, "Private Wasteland" in 1988 and "Your Estimation" in 1990.

The core members of the band were Jan Hellriegel (ex-Working With Walt; lyrics, vocals, guitar and keyboards), Flick Rhind (bass), Zan Wright (backing vocals), Vanessa Anich (drums) and Leanne Ibell (guitar). Additional musicians on their recordings included Sarah MacNab (percussion, backing vocals), Debs Frame (saxophone) and Danny Manetto (cello).

Cassandra’s Ears disbanded sometime in the early 1990s and Jan Hellriegel has subsequently had a successful solo music career.
