- Ghormach District
Ghormach is a district in northeast
Badghis Province ,Afghanistan . It borders onTurkmenistan to the north, the Almar and Qaysar districts ofFaryab Province to the east, andMurghab District to the south and to the west. The district centre isGhormach . Ghormach district experienced a resurgence in poppy cultivation after the fall of the Taliban government in 2001, although the Karzai government's eradication program had made some headway by spring 2007. The district population was estimated by the Transitional Islamic State of Afghanistan (TISA) at 61,956 (2003).
