- Baron Lanerton
Baron Lanerton, of Lanerton in the County of Cumberland, was a title in the
Peerage of the United Kingdom . It was created on8 January 1874 for the naval commanderAdmiral Edward Howard. He also represented Morpeth in the House of Commons. A member of the famousHoward family , he was the fourth son ofGeorge Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle . Lord Lanerton was childless and the title became extinct on his death on8 October 1880 .Barons Lanerton (
