It is the longest named trail in the state (excepting theAppalachian Trail , 4 miles of which traverse the state atHarper's Ferry ).The trail is not yet complete, and substantial sections are still on roads. The northern terminus of the Allegheny Trail is near
Bruceton Mills, West Virginia at theMason-Dixon Line , which here represents the boundary between West Virginia andPennsylvania . The trail ends at theAppalachian Trail onPeters Mountain on the Virginia-West Virginia border.References
