After 10 years, Chetwynd retired from the Great Britain Baseball Team due to injury, completing his international career with an
RBI single in his final at-bat in his last game againstIreland , part of a double-header atFinsbury Park on Saturday 29 July, 2006. Chetwynd also played professionally in the United States in theFrontier League and in Sweden's Elite Series and at the collegiate level for four years atNCAA Division INorthwestern University . His usual fielding position was catcher. In 2007, he played for and coached theLondon Mets in the British National League South. The team won British baseball's national title, earning a sweep over theCroydon Pirates in the best-of-three finals.TV presenting
Chetwynd first appeared on
MLB on Five as a pundit in 2001, replacing the previous regularTodd Macklin , and remained in the role until 2003, when he left to complete a post-graduate degree; at this pointDavid Lengel took over the role. However, at the start of the 2006 season, Chetwynd returned to the role following Lengel's departure to work as a presenter on mlb.com. In October 2006, Chetwynd briefly took over as the host of Monday night coverage ofNFL on Five whenColin Murray had to leave due to the show clashing with his radio show.Journalism
