Baron Armstrong

Baron Armstrong

Baron Armstrong is a title that has been created twice in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.

The first creation was on 6 July 1887 when the industrialist Sir William Armstrong was made Baron Armstrong, of Cragside in the County of Northumberland. This title became extinct on his death in 1900.

However, the title was revived three years later, on 4 August 1903, for his great-nephew William Watson-Armstrong, who was created Baron Armstrong, of Bamburgh and of Cragside in the County of Northumberland. This title became extinct in 1987 on the death of the 1st Baron's grandson, the 3rd Baron.
