Chelsea Peretti (born February 20, 1978) is an American comedian and writer based in Los Angeles.

Career

She and brother Jonah Peretti were co-creators of the New York City Rejection Line and of web satire Black People Love Us. Both projects received extensive media coverage and were exhibited at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York.

Chelsea has written for The Village Voice, Details, Playgirl, Jest, American Theatre Magazine, and a video game, as well as online publications like The Huffington Post.

Peretti has made guest appearances in comedy programs such as The Sarah Silverman Program and Louie. She is also a frequent guest correspondent on Lopez Tonight. She also makes numerous appearances on TruTV Presents: World's Dumbest....

She makes short films with the Variety SHAC, a comedy troupe she formed in 2004 along with Andrea Rosen, Heather Lawless, and Shonali Bhowmik.[1]

In July 2010, Peretti made Variety magazine's "Ten Comics to Watch in 2010" list.[2]

Peretti is currently a writer for the television show Parks and Recreation.

Personal life

Peretti was born in Oakland, California.[1] She moved to New York in 1996 to attend Barnard College[1][3] and graduated[2] in 2000.[4] As of 2011, she lives in Los Angeles.
