Harvey Vincent Sutton (18 February 1882 – 21 June 1963) was an Australian athlete. He competed in the
1908 Summer Olympics in London on the Australasia team, a combined squad of competitors from Australia and New Zealand.Born in
Castlemaine, Victoria he represented Oxford against Cambridge in athletics andlacrosse . In the 800 metres, Sutton placed third in his initial semifinal heat and did not advance to the final. His time was 2:00.0. Sutton served as resident medical officer at Charing Cross Hospital and the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine before returning toMelbourne where he was medical officer with the Victorian Department of Public Instruction from September 1909 untilWorld War I .Survived by his wife, three sons and four daughters, Sutton died at his
Rose Bay home, nearSydney, New South Wales , on 21 June 1963 and was buried in Waverley cemetery. His portrait by Joshua Smith is held by the University of SydneyExternal links
