EMAP Leeds

EMAP Leeds is a local commercial digital radio multiplex in the United Kingdom, which serves Leeds in West Yorkshire.

EMAP Leeds is transmitted on frequency block 12D from the Beecroft Hill, [http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Hunter's+Stones&sll=54.162434,-3.647461&sspn=11.56667,26.235352&ie=UTF8&cd=2&mpnum=0&ll=53.958674,-1.679417&spn=0.002834,0.006405&t=k&z=17&om=1 Hunter's Stones] , and Morley transmitters. The service began in July 2001. The Hunter's Stones signal is less than half the power of the other two. EMAP were the only [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/rau/newsroom/news-release/00/pr057.htm applicant] for the licence when the multiplex was offered in October 1999 and awarded on April 6 2000. The Norwood Ridge [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/606376 transmitter] on EMAP's application is another name for [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/186852 Hunter's Stones] .

Once the adoption of DAB radios had reached 32% in the local area, two other transmitters at [http://tx.mb21.co.uk/gallery/birkwood-farm.php Birkwood Farm] and [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/326345 Collingham] would be introduced, but this never happened.
