"Evening in Byzantium" is a 1978 television movie directed by Jerry London about the Cannes Film Festival in which the festival is overtaken by terrorists. It stars Glenn Ford, Edward James Olmos, and Eddie Albert. The film is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Irwin Shaw. Many have commentedFact|date=September 2008 that the events portrayed in this film were an eerie foreshadowing of 9/11 because it portrayed a massive terrorist attack against America using hijacked airplanes as weapons.
