Iceland ic post-rock bandSigur Rós , found as the eighth and final song on the 2002 album "( ) ". Many fans consider it to be the band's best work.In concert, the song is played as the final encore, most likely for its epic climactic buildup and intensity. In most concerts a curtain is drawn across the stage during the song with an accompanying light show.
The song also appears on the compilation CD
Screaming Masterpiece , as well as being the penultimate performance on the Sigur Rós self-produced movie "Heima ".Lyrics and melody
As with all songs on "( )", "untitled #8" is sung in Vonlenska (Hopelandic). The song itself starts out very dreamlike and slow and gradually builds up into an emotional climax, which stands out on the album for its intensity and speed as most of the songs on the album are much slower and more mellow.
