Edenderry Primary School, Portadown

Edenderry Primary School is a non-denominational primary school situated in Portadown, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It is in the Southern Education and Library Board area.

The school has an average enrolment of 350 students, and is staffed with 17 teachers, a principal and a vice principal. Edenderry traces its origins back to 1840 when the school was based in a three storey house on Bridge Street. The school was later transferred across the street, where it was expanded due to further growth. In April 1968 a new school was built in the Princess Way area of Killicomaine, which is still used today.

The school was involved in the the development of a "Good Practice in Early Years" DVD for the Southern Education and Library Board to disseminate good practice and to help all those involved with the provision of early years education in the primary sector. This was launched in April 2006 in Armagh. [ [http://www.selb.org/news/news2006/goodpractice/goodpractice.htm Good Practice DVD Launched] ]
