Tunuyán is a city in the west of the province of Mendoza,
Argentina , located on the western shore of theTunuyán River , 80 km south from the provincial capital Mendoza and about 100 km east of theChile an border. It has 42,125 inhabitants as per the census-ar|2001, and is the head town of theTunuyán Department . Along with theTupungato Department and the San Carlos Department it makes up the "Valle de Uco" region, which is famous in theArgentine wine industry for its important and modern vineyards and winery's. Recent investments attracted by the climate, soil, and altitude combination have transformed the area since 2002, making it one of Argentina's most important regions when it comes to high-quality wine production.References
