Charmadoah

Charmadoah is a Victorian manse located in Harpers Ferry, Jefferson County, West Virginia within the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Situated high on Camp Hill, overlooking the Shenandoah River, Charmadoah was originally the summer home of a Col. Henry Miles, who commissioned its construction in 1881. In 1920, Charmadoah was purchased by William F. Andes from Charlotte Miles, the widow of Col. Miles. Today, Charmadoah is owned by Shirley Hough Caniford, the granddaughter of Mr. Andes.
