Seeland (Switzerland)

Seeland (Switzerland)

Seeland (Drei-Seen-Land) is a region in Switzerland containing Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel, and Lake Murten. In previous eras, it was the floodplain of the Aare and is thus swampy. After the first Jura water correction, the area was drained and could support more cultivation. Seeland is one of the most important regions in Switzerland for growin vegetables, particularly the Grosse Moos.
