Ross Symonds (born
6 January 1942 ) is a former news presenter for theSeven Network in Sydney from the 1970s until the early 2000s.Symonds began his career with
ABC Radio inBrisbane in his teenage years, and then went toSydney with ABC radio and television to become ABC's Senior National News Presenter. After 12 years in the position, Symonds joinedChannel Seven in Sydney as the station's main news presenter. He was paired withAnn Sanders on both "Seven Nightly News" and Seven's news program "11AM", on which he was the featured news reader for much of the program's life. Symonds read his lastSeven News bulletin onDecember 5 2003 , alongsideAnn Sanders . They had read together since 1998, however failed to make an impact in the strong Sydney market. Symonds then worked as a casual news reader at Radio 2 in Sydney in 2005. The station closed its operations at Homebush in 2006.Symonds has won the Better Hearing Australia News Presenters' Clear Speech Award nine times, [ [http://www.betterhearingsydney.org.au/content/view/67/58/ Better Hearing Sydney] ] as well as Best Metropolitan News Presenter.
In 2007 he joined a
