Sense is the second album by rock group Lightning Seeds released in 1992 chiefly produced by Ian Broudie and Simon Rogers.

History

The album reached #50 in the UK Albums Chart and singles "Life of Riley" and "Sense" would chart at a modest #28 and #31 respectively. However interest in the former would increase in later years, partly due to The Lightning Seeds rise in popularity in the mid-nineties but also the song's appearance on BBC's Match Of The Day soundtracking goal compilations.

"The Life of Riley", released as a single in March 1992, was written for Broudie's son Riley.

The album's second single, "Sense", was co-written by Broudie and Specials singer and long time writing partner Terry Hall. The single would include a track written by Broudie and Simon Rogers from their time as Care, "Flaming Sword", as a B-side [ [http://www.lightning-seeds.co.uk/discog/sense677.htm Sense - Sugar Coated discography] ] . Hall would go on to release a re-recorded version of "Sense" with himself on vocals in 1994.
