Baksan Neutrino Observatory

The Baksan Neutrino Observatory (BNO) is a neutrino observatory of INR RAS located in the Baksan gorge in the Caucasus. It started operations in 1977, becoming the first such observatory in the USSR. [http://www.inr.ru/zatsepin/z-interv.html] It consists of the Baksan Underground Scintillation Telescope, located 300m below the surface cite web | url = http://www.inr.troitsk.ru/eng/ebno.html | title = Baksan Neutrino Observatory | accessdate = 2006-07-25] , a Gallium-Germanium Neutrino Telescope 3,500m deep , as well as a number of ground facilities.
