Israeli Freedom Jump

Israeli Freedom Jump

The Israeli Freedom Jump is a parachuting event held annually in Israel since 2005. It is staged by the Israeli Freedom Jump Organization with the support of the Israel Ministry of Tourism and the Israel Defense Forces, and serving or former military paratroopers from various countries are invited to participate. The event generally marks some form of patriotic commemoration. The 2006 event commemorated Israel's first and only combat parachute jump during the Suez Crisis in 1956, and paratroopers from Israel and France were invited back to parachute once again with IDF.

The planned Freedom Jump 2007 will, if it goes ahead in the present security circumstances, commemorate 40 years since the involvement of paratroopers in the reunification of Jerusalem during the Six Days War, and the 3000 years of the city's history.
