List of Bari Tribes

List of Bari Tribes

This term is used for Jat tribes living in the "Bar" area of the Punjab. The Bar area consists of four bars — Sandal Bar, Kirana Bar, Neeli Bar and Ganji Bar. The word "Bar" is used to describe thick barren forest area, as before the canal irrigation system there was less or no cultivation. The soil of this area is fertile as the plains have been made by the alluvium driven by rivers flowing from the Himalayas. The tribes living here are considered as hard and tough as this area is. Given here is a list of Bari Tribes.
