In addition to known extrasolar planets, there are many planet candidates whose existence is more or less uncertain, or they are now known not to exist.
Probable extrasolar planets
There are a number of exoplanet candidates that are waiting to be confirmed.
Disproven candidates
There are several candidates that have been shown to be more massive than a planet, or not to be real at all.

Many young stars are accompanied with a protoplanetary disk. Some of the disks have are known to have gaps or other structures which might have been caused by an orbiting planet.
