Currently Valmet Automotive manufactures Porsche Boxsters since 1997 and Porsche Caymans since 2005. Valmet Automotive announced July 15, 2008 the assembly contract with Fisker Automotive. History

Saab-Valmet was established in 1968 as a joint venture of the Valmet and Saab-Scania. The automotive plant was placed in Uusikaupunki, Finland. Since 1992 the company was owned by Valmet alone, and in 1995 it was renamed as Valmet Automotive.
