Koji Yamamoto (baseball)


nihongo|Kōji Yamamoto|山本 浩二|Yamamoto Kōji|born October 25, 1946 is a former Japanese baseball player and manager of the Hiroshima Carp of Japan's Central League.

He was born in Saeki, Hiroshima.

He is known as the nihongo|"Mr.Red Helmet"|ミスター赤ヘル|Mr.Aka-heru because he was the star baseball player of Hiroshima Carp, and "red" is the color of the team.

He led his team into five Japan Series and winning three titles (1979, 1980 and 1984).

And he won the Japan Central League as the manager in 1991.

*Gold Glove Award winner (1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1981).
*Japan All-star game (1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1986)
*Hiroshima Prefectural Prize of Honour (1987).
