Primarily known by his surname, Alaadeen was a student of Leo H. Davis, who reportedly was also
Charlie Parker 's teacher during the legendary saxophonist's youth in Kansas City. He also spent significant periods of time living inNew York ,Chicago ,Denver , St. Louis andSan Antonio . Alaadeen is a veteran of theUS military music program, where he served as a member of the 4th US Army Band as featuredjazz saxophonist andprinciple oboist in the organization's wind ensemble.Career

Jazz andBlues legendsBillie Holiday ,Miles Davis ,Jay McShann ,Ella Fitzgerald , TheCount Basie Orchestra , TheDuke Ellington Orchestra,Eddie Vinson , right up through Motown starsGladys Knight ,Smokey Robinson ,The Temptations andSam Cooke . Along the way, he has won awards includingBillboard songwriting competitions for several of his original compositions. In 1996, his ensemble was picked as Musician Magazine's Best Unsigned Band.Influence

He epitomizes the term "standard bearer" not only in his own playing, but also in the teaching and nurturing of emerging artists. Recently, he was inducted into the RT Coles/Lincoln High School "Outstanding Alumni Hall of Fame". Alaadeen has been developing several projects in the areas of
recording ,composing andpublishing . Additionally, he continues to oversee the growth, operations and management of 'ASR Records .
