Xinjiang (Chinese: ; pinyin: Xīnjiàng Xiàn) is a county in the province of
Shanxi in thePeople's Republic of China .The county's area is approximately 600 km2 and its population, as of 2002, was 320,000. Until recently, its industry was dominated by the production of handicrafts, including lacquerware, embroidery, and leather goods, as well as the manufacture of drugs.
