After excelling with Shanghai Shenhua in the late 90s, Xie Hui transferred to
Alemannia Aachen in January 2000. During the 2000/2001 season, Xie Hui was the top scorer for Aachen with fourteen goals in twenty-four league appearances. The following season Xie Hui netted only once in thirteen appearances. Because of this drop in performance, he went back to Shanghai Shenhua on loan in March 2002 to gain more first team experience and to keep his place on theChina national football team . He later transferred toSpVgg Greuther Fürth in August 2002. After netting only once in eight league appearances for Greuther Fürth, Xie Hui came back to China to play forChongqing Lifan in 2003. He rejoined Shanghai Shenhua in December 2004.After 2 years in China with Shanghai Shenhua, Xie Hui is heading back to Germany. He will join
