International Cruise Victims Organization

International Cruise Victims Organization

"International Cruise Victims" (ICV) is a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to offer support and assistance to people who have been affected by crimes committed against themselves or family members while on cruise ships, or who feel they have received poor treatment by cruise ship companies in addressing their grievances. ICV also serves as an advocacy group that gathers information regarding safety on cruise ships worldwide. They use their findings to lobby for widespread legislative reforms [http://www.house.gov/shays/news/2006/june/junecruise.htm] in the cruiseship industry.

Membership is open to crime victims, family members, crew members, members of the media or to friends i.e. any person interested in the issues that the organization is concerned about.

ICV was founded January 1, 2006 by several families who have lost loved ones on cruise ships. The headquarters is in Sammamich, Washington. On June 25, 2006, a branch of the organization was founded in Queensland, Australia.
