Windows on the World (novel)
- Windows on the World (novel)
"Windows on the World" released March 30, 2005 is a fiction novel written by Frederic Beigbeder, translated by Frank Wynne and published by Miramax Books. It has received great criticism as many believe the events of 9/11 should be approached cautiously or arguably not at all.
Plot summary
The story offers a hypothetical minute-by-minute account narrated by a father who is accompanied by his two sons (ages 7 and 9) who are having a tourist-style breakfast at Windows on the World restaurant on the 107th floor of the World Trade Center on the morning of September 11, 2001. Each chapter, averaging three pages a piece, represents one minute from the time the building is hit at 8:46am to its collapse at 10:28am. Jennifer Lopez contributed in writing this novel because her friend, known as "Joe," was in one of the towers at the time.
