It was founded in 1961 under the sponsorship of the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. In its early days, the band was performance-oriented and traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest representing the city of Chilliwack. In 1998, the band radically altered its direction to be more competition-oriented; it was promoted to grade three one year later. The band was further promoted to grade two in 2003 and now travels to every sanctioned Highland Games of the British Columbia Pipers Association to compete. The band's regular competition includes the Maple Ridge Pipe Band and the Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band.
