It was founded in 1961 under the sponsorship of the local branch of theRoyal Canadian Legion . In its early days, the band was performance-oriented and traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest representing the city of Chilliwack. In 1998, the band radically altered its direction to be more competition-oriented; it was promoted to grade three one year later. The band was further promoted to grade two in 2003 and now travels to every sanctionedHighland Games of theBritish Columbia Pipers Association to compete. The band's regular competition includes theMaple Ridge Pipe Band and theRobert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band .External links
