ntupdate =Thomas Pinault (born
December 4 1981 ) is a French professional footballer currently playing for Crawley Town.Pinault's favoured position is central midfield. His career started in the 1998–99 season when he was promoted to the first team squad with French club Cannes. After only one season in his native country, Pinault moved to England with Colchester United.
After five seasons at Layer Road, the tough tackling, flash central midfielder moved to Grimsby Town on a free transfer in the summer of 2004. Pinault was an instant hit with The Mariners, and impressed fans and pundits alike in the first half of the season, though it was his performance in the second half of the season which would have a knock on effect.
It started with manager
Russell Slade slating him on live radio saying "The french man was awful today" after a league game with Notts County. Following a huge dip in performances it was Grimsby chairmanJohn Fenty who released a statement at the end of the year mentioning that the club has seen what Thomas is capable of, flash and silky skill, but mentioning as well that everyone at the club had seen the other side of his game as well. Pinault was released after his first season , despite being regarded quite highly by the majority of the clubs supporters , who had singled outTerry Fleming andStacy Coldicott as the clubs weakest links in the campaign.Pinault seemed to vanish for a season but reappeared when
Leroy Rosenior made him a new signing at Brentford. But after another season of misfortune in which the club were relegated from League One, Pinault found himself clubless again until he secured a move to non-league Crawley Town.External links
