"Swainsona" is a large genus of flowering plants native to Australia and part of the family Fabaceae (legumes). The genus is named after English botanist Isaac Swainson. The most closely related genera are the New Zealand genera of "Montigena" (scree pea), "Clianthus" (kakabeak), and "Carmichaelia" (New Zealand broom).cite journal |last=Wagstaff |first=Steven J. |authorlink= |coauthors=Peter B.
