Arthur Frederick Richards, 1st Baron Milverton CMG, KCMG, GCMG (21 February 1885–27 October 1978), was a British colonial administrator who served as Governor of Nigeria from 1943 to 1948.
The son of William Rogers of Bristol, Richards served as Governor of North Borneo from 1930 to 1933 and of Gambia from 1933 to 1936. The latter year he was appointed Governor of Fiji and High Commissioner of the British Western Pacific Territories, posts he held until 1938, and then served as Governor of Jamaica from 1938 to 1943 and as Governor of Nigeria from 1943 to 1947. Richards was made a CMG in 1933, a KCMG in 1935 and a GCMG in 1942. In 1947 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Milverton, of Lagos and of Clifton in the City of Bristol.
Lord Milverton married Noella Benda, daughter of Charles Basil Whitehead, in 1927. He died in October 1978, aged 93, and was succeeded in the Barony by his eldest son Fraser Arthur Richard Richards.
